From Nadyne Richmond : @Emily - Phyl Terry has written a great book called “Never Search Alone” that gives a framework for searching for a new role and defining what role you want. Part of their framework is establishing your candidate-market fit. Here’s a video from Phyl about it: https://www.linkedin.com/events/powerofjobsearchcouncils7043623160142848000/comments/
From Shannon Tevendale : Emily, don’t shy away from using the term “generalist” - that is becoming a more accepted and welcomed term for someone who does it all for a small or mid-size company.
From Krista Bowman : Building on @nadyne’s — another framework I found helpful from HBR https://hbr.org/2022/01/finding-a-job-when-you-dont-know-what-you-want-to-do-next
From Tiffany Aquino : What if you haven't worked at a high growth startup, but you have experience scaling in other challenging environments? I keep getting rejected because of a lack of startup experience, but I have a lot of experience driving innovation with huge resource limitations and ambiguity. Not sure how to frame this for startups to take interest.
From Krista Bowman : Thanks, Jodi and Jill— definitely walking away with actionable next steps. Have to hop for next call; looking forward to next week’s connect!
